There's a lot about this program that is different from the typical training
approach that you find in these cookie-cutter programs that a whole
group follows - the ones that tend to force the body to comply and aren't
geared for you specifically.
Those type of programs often will leave an athlete burnt out, fatigued, and
terminally frustrated on race day.
My training programs release the calendar's iron-fisted grip on an athlete's
training.
Training is no longer dictated by some red "X" through a Sunday in January.
My training program is founded on the argument that if health and fitness
levels improve steadily and continually, better performances will follow.
There is no grand plan worked out in advance.
The training takes its direction from an athlete's state of health and fitness, as determined by periodic
evaluation (or assessment) workouts. These special workouts are called Maximum Aerobic Function
Evaluations. An athlete moves to another phase of training when his or her body is ready, as indicated
by his or her test results.
If you do not know already, you will soon become aware that this training METHOD is probably very
different than any you've tried. You'll be working out slower to get faster. Initially, the mental strain of
that style may be difficult, but everyone goes through it.
In addition to these and other ideas you'll experience in this program, don't lose sight of one reason you
